Entrance ticket offices: Siesmayerstraße 63 and Palmengartenstraße
The show houses (Tropicarium, Palm House, Subantarctic House, exhibition galleries and the Flower and Butterfly House) are always closed one hour after the ticket office closes.
The fluttering season is underway. Between the beginning of October and probably mid-April, numerous butterflies will fly again in the Blossom and Butterfly House. The Flower and Butterfly House and the exhibition “Dusted off - of flowers and their visitors” are open daily and can be visited. Admission is included in the Palmengarten entrance fee. Exit from the Palmengarten is possible through the turnstiles after ticket office opening hours. The Palmengarten must be left by 11 p.m. at the latest. Exceptions, for example in the context of events, are determined by the Palmengarten.
Wheelchairs can be borrowed by leaving a deposit (e.g. identity card) at the Siesmayerstraße ticket office. Please make a reservation by telephone on (069) 212-3 40 90.
We would like to point out that dogs are not admitted to the Palmengarten. We ask for your understanding. Exceptions to this rule are assistance and service dogs that are certified with a corresponding ID card and can be identified by a dog tag. ID must be shown without being asked. Dogs must be kept on a lead without exception.
We have a limited number of lockers available for you at the entrance to the parking garage at “Siesmayerstraße 63” (entrance showroom). Further information on the lockers can be found in our FAQ.

** The After work ticket can only be purchased on weekdays (Monday to Friday from 6.30 pm). This discount is not offered at weekends or on public holidays. The price applies to all persons - no further discount will be deducted.
*** The following are entitled to a discount on presentation of appropriate proof: school pupils, trainees and students, participants in voluntary services (e.g. FÖJ, FSJ), severely disabled persons (from a degree of disability of 50), holders of an honorary card.

At the Palmengarten entrance Zeppelinallee, close to the rock gardens and heather, this distinguished historic mansion is the former “garden cottage” of the family Leonhardi. Built in 1806 by the architect Nicolas Alexandre Salins de Monfort it formerly stood along the Bockenheimer Anlage. Between 1825 and 1833 it served as a café.
Today you can enjoy coffee, cake, sausages, and lemonade inside the Villa Leonhardi or on its open-air terrace with a view across the Rock and Heath Gardens.

The Kiosk Wasserspielplatz is located in the northern part of the Palmengarten directly next to the water playground. In addition to an extensive range of snacks such as drinks, sausages, ice cream or small nibbles, the kiosk also lends out clubs and balls for the neighboring mini-golf course.

The kiosk as well as the miniature golf course are open for you between March and October at the following times:
- outside the school vacations from Wednesday to Sunday between 11.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m.
- during the vacations daily between 11.00 and 18.00 o'clock
- in case of bad weather the kiosk is closed

Swinging, digging, climbing, and splashing: the large playground is a meeting place for families with small children. The Water Fun Park is particularly popular. 12,000 liters of drinking water flow through it every day, which are subsequently collected in a cistern and used to water the playground meadow.
An additional playground is located above the Big Pond, where kids can frolic and play in the shade of large trees. Directly adjacent, albeit outside the garden, the Papageno Theater puts on plays and operas for children and adults.
The lake to the west of the Palm House is part of the historic section of the park. The shallow pond is home to several kinds of fish and waterfowl. Formerly, gondolas were awaiting guests to be gently rowed around the lake. Today boats can be rented during the summer months for leisurely paddling around.

Do you fancy a little sporting activity in the countryside? Next to the water playground at the northern end of the Palmengarten, a round of mingolf awaits you. Clubs and balls can be rented from the kiosk at the water playground. We wish you a lot of fun and a nice game.
