Together with the Science Garden, the Botanic Garden and the Palmengarten have launched a nature observation project on the iNaturalist platform that includes animals and fungi in the three Frankfurt gardens. Everyone is welcome to contribute to this project; photo observations are automatically assigned to the project via location:

African Plants – a photo guide
The freely accessible online plant guide for our neighbouring continent has been available since 2014 and the Palmengarten has been directly involved since 2020. More than 10,000 plant species are now documented. The species can be found via free text search, by characteristics and taxonomic groups, and the photos are also used in numerous floras, monographs and printed field guides, thus helping scientists, conservationists and interested laypeople. Well-determined and instructive photo contributions are gladly accepted!
