Display houses accessible again

From Thursday, 1 October, the Palm House will open again its doors to visitors. It was closed since March, in the beginning for protection against corona, later on for preparations for the 150th anniversary of the Palmengarten 2021.

Now the visitors can walk through the venerable building again from Monday to Friday between 12 noon and 5 p.m. and on the weekends from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. In order to comply with the currently valid rules of distance, they move through the Palm House by means of a one-way street system.

Besides the Palm House, the Tropicarium and the Subantarctic House are also open. As in all closed rooms, it is necessary to wear a mouth and nose covering and to keep a minimum distance of 1.5 meters to protect against corona.

Only the upper floor of the entrance mall, where carnivorous plants, tillandsias and botanical rarities are displayed, remains inaccessible.

Lectures and Guided Tours

The lecture and guided tour program as well as the offers of the Grüne Schule will be suspended until 31 January 2021.
Many thanks for your understanding.

Reopening on 11 May 2020

The outdoor facilities of the Palmengarten will be opened to the public again on 11 May 2020 – provided that all restrictions connected to the corona pandemic are followed. The greenhouses and exhibition galleries remain closed to the public. Please also see the updates regarding our other offers in the Palmengarten.

The health and well-being of our visitors are our top priority. Therefore, please note:

• Keep distance! Keep a minimum distance of 1.50 meters between persons outdoors and on benches. There is a minimum distance of 5 meters to other visitors on the green rest area and the playing field.
• Do not form groups! You can walk in constellations according to the current regulation.
• In closed rooms/buildings (e.g. sanitary facilities) a mouth-nose cover is mandatory.
• Please do not enter restricted areas.

The reconstruction of our water supply system is still ongoing, so we apologise for any inconvenience caused by construction sites and construction vehicles. The regular admission prices apply. With your entry you contribute to the preservation of
the Palmengarten in these difficult times. Thank you very much!

The visit of the neighbouring Botanical Garden is regularly free of charge.
