From July it will be full of sound again in the Palmengarten. Our music program starts and we are looking forward to a summer with jazz, blues, classical music, rock, pop and many other sounds and rhythms.
On July 3, the Promenade Concerts of the University of Music and Performing Arts will kick things off. Every Sunday afternoon until September 11, the students offer sometimes guitar, sometimes piano, sometimes bass - but in any case always a listening pleasure.
The Jazz Initiative joins the program starting July 7, featuring Thärichen's Tentet, the Nathan Ott Quartet, and Antonio Lizana & Oriente, among others, in seven Thursday sessions.
With the opera "Die glückliche Täuschung" by Giaochino Rossini, the Chamber Opera is represented this year with a Frankfurt premiere. The premiere on July 16 will be followed by nine more performances in July and August, as well as the concerts "Oh Freiheit, du bist ein böser Traum" and "Séparée - Ein Abend ... mit Liebe!". A special highlight will be the 40th anniversary celebration concert on August 13.
Summer in the City will be hot this year. Besides Rufus Wainwright on July 19, Manu Katché, Mogli, Wolf Hass with his reading "Müll", Ry X and Tank and the Bangas are waiting for your ears in the following weeks.
And we also have the blues as a guest in the Palmengarten again this year. This time in the form of Kai Strauss & The Electric Blues Allstars on August 19.
